9th Kyu Syllabus

Stances

Sanchin Dachi

Three Point Stance

Strong defensive stance with feet in hourglass shape, knees bent inward

Kokutsu Dachi

Backward Leaning Stance

Defensive stance with 70% weight on back leg, 30% on front

Musubi Dachi

Toes Open Stance

Heels together, toes pointing outward at 45 degrees

Strikes

Seiken Ago Uchi

Forefist Jaw Strike

Forefist chin strike

Seiken Gyaku Tsuki (Jodan / Chudan / Gedan)

Forefist Straight Punch (Reverse)

Punch with opposite hand to forward leg

Blocks

Closed FIst Mid-Level Inside Block
